Week 15: #5 Blog Entry

What did you do?

Friday: Food and Family Friday (comfortable social interactions with family members-movies, board games, dinner)

Sunday: Sunday Sleeps (a flexible sleep schedule to catch up on energy lost during the week)

Monday: Monday Meditation (a 10-minute ly-down with background music every Monday morning)

Wednesday: Wacky Wednesday (pampering day with baths, facemasks and relaxation)

Chris Holdship:

How did it go?

Week 5 sees all strategies being thoroughly enjoyed and effectively implemented into the client’s lifestyle after nearly two months of routine.

How did you feel?

Meditation Mondays is Chris’s obvious favourite out of the four strategies, particularly due to the new experience and peaceful nature. Occupational life is still very demanding on stress and emotional levels, which Sunday Sleeps and Wacky Wednesday have helped to decrease. Comfortable social interaction with family members allows for Chris to have memorable and good social health.

How was the client feeling? Client feedback.

Week 5 demonstrates the positive benefits of a regular routine that does not have an overwhelming presence on the client’s life.

Chris: Some of the most comforting ways to start or end the day.

Was it successful? Why?

Life at work has begun to settle down and Chris is tasked with much less (stressful) occupational engagement. With more free time and not being slowed down by the draining presence of constant stress, Chris has found it easier to fully focus on the program and its final two weeks of progress. He is now excited for the results to show and deeply feels as though his mindfulness is gradually becoming better and more insightful.

What changes need to occur?

Whilst familiarity is a great way to allow for the client to feel more comfortable performing a routine and thus more enthusiastic to do it, variety is also key to encouraging effort. For the final week of the intervention, I will be changing activities around and possibly adding new ones to add excitement to an already well-known routine.
