March-April 2019:
Our most recent clients to have signed up for the six-week program are Metilda Trench and Christopher Holdship.

METILDA TRENCH & CHRISTOPHER HOLDSHIP (Before the trial)
As a parent, friend and colleague, it isn’t hard to guess that these two don’t have much free time to themselves to relax from an incredibly busy lifestyle. Because of such a jam-packed schedule, it becomes much harder to approach each new event in their lives with the right amount of enthusiasm and effort.
However, after regular occurrences of stress-induced mood-swings, isolation at home, less-than-ideal work performances and strains in close familial and platonic relationships, the two have decided to accept the challenge and trial the six-week program.
Short-term goals include developing a happier mindset to facing adversity and abrupt changes in the lifestyle, seeking social comfort in times of strife and determining preferred methods of relaxation to treat stress.
Meet the clients!
Metilda Trench

Client Background: Meet Metilda Trench, married and mother of one beautiful daughter. Hard-working, dedicated and driven, however, finds herself often stress, tired and over-worked; no current solution in sight.
Recently Metilda’s relationships with others are being impacted and being put to the test by the mood swings, a short fuse and a lack of communication due to the never-ending strenuous effort of managing stress.
However, we have recently developed a new six week intervention to aid Metilda in achieving her goals.
Short Term Goals: to prioritise rest, relaxation, sleep and family time over extra work hours and house work.
Long Term Goals: to rekindle relationships and develop new ones, as well as grow as a person and maintain a positive outlook on life becoming a beacon for others.
Chris Holdship:

Client Background: Meet Christopher Holdship, British citizen, age 58. Lover of golf, clash-of-clans king and one of the most hard-working parents ever. He was our second client to trial the six week intervention.
Recently, he’s been under a lot of stress ranging from a heavy workload in his occupational life to dealing with consistent complications within the household. Unsure on how to better solve the issues, Chris continues to resort to isolation, in hope that some alone time will make him more comfortable with managing the problem. However, we here have a better solution for him.
Short Term Goals: to look for solutions rather than isolation in times of strife.
Long-term goals will be a gradual progress, however, the completion of the six-week intervention should result in a positive application of mindfulness during changes regarding occupation, family or personal life.
Long Term Goals: to have a constant positive outlook on change and know when to effectively use obtained mindfulness abilities.
What are our initial ideas/inquiry question?
KJ and I are looking to create both a worth-while experience and journey of mindfulness for our clients. The program will be narrowed down from its large list of general solutions so that specific strategies stand out. A type of test, quiz or questionnaire will help determine the course of action and which strategies to implement into the lifestyle of our emotionally-diverse clients. The strategies are chosen based on the client’s responses in order to tackle particular elements of mindfulness, in which the client seems to be lacking.
What if (self-picked) strategies can be successfully implemented to improve overall mindfulness for a specific person?

What interventions could we introduce to our client?
Depending on the client’s personal areas of growth, solutions vary. However, certain interventions to choose from could range from stress relievers (meditation and doing the things you love), encouraging creative opportunity (work-shops or course lectures) and implementing practical products subtly into the client’s life (calendar, mobile apps or reminders).

What is the most thought-provoking thing we have discovered so far?
Mindfulness is different for everybody-with an equally large variety of solution counterparts- and the best way to improving how you develop and apply your own perceptive ability, is by identifying factors in the lifestyle that are stopping emotional growth.

What is the plan from here?
Easy, forward.
- To create the program with specificity in mind over a six week trialling period.
- Identify a variety of mindfulness strategies and preparing clients for the journey.
- Documenting and monitoring the six week action progress in proportions and at our own place separately; (each client’s progress will be monitored by one of us and compared towards the conclusion of the program).
- Enabling clients to obtain an improved sense and application of mindfulness.
- Enjoying the journey.
